Electrologic "Galaxy" FES Bike

The finest piece of therapeutic equipment able to build muscle, develop endurance, heal and prevent pressure wounds and stimulate nerve growth.

Neuro Pulse
The best neuromuscular stimulator available anywhere. It enables patients to accomplish neuro muscular education of affected areas of their body through biofeedback. It also allows patients to treat pain more efficiently and comfortably with a patented wave pattern called "Neuromode". The Neuro Pulse has 43 different programs to meet a variety of patient demands.

 


E-4000

First the official name is E-4000 FES DEVICE This is the state of the art in the field of Functional Electrical Stimulation. Neuro Institute is the only Recovery program that uses the E-4000 with a specialized strength program developed by Phil Muccio, of Bio-Flex. This program allows us to develop strength, like an athlete would, as we build endurance with the FES Bike.

This piece of equipment allows all individuals to begin developing the necessary conditioning needed to participate in intense therapy. It works both upper and lower body effectively with 10 different levels and multiple programs. (www.scifit.com)

At 30 feet it is the longest available I-Beam walking machine., and was developed exclusively for the Neuro Institute. The I-Beam Walking Machine allows all individuals to develop a proper gait from crawling to walking, with complete safety. The Neuro Gait Trainer is the most innovative gait-training machine available today, and is another example of equipment built exclusively for the Neuro Institute. The Neuro Gait Trainer allows the patient to use a more natural gait, in a safer environment. The Gait Trainer is phenomenal for not only gait training, but also for physical conditioning. GaitKeeper Treadmill

A specially designed treadmill with a large walking surface that is capable of operating at slow speeds (0.1 mph and up) appropriate for rehabilitating clients at all levels of ability using our I- Beam un-weighting and Bungee systems.  The GaitKeeper walking surface is designed for superior strength at low speeds.  This makes it the best choice for ambulating low level clients.  It also allows working through client’s muscle tone and spasms..  (http://www.litegait.com)


20-Foot Parallel Bars
Extra long to allow more a fluid, smooth training area, the 20-Foot Parallel Bars also allow patients to work a variety of standing exercises.


Standing Frames
We use EasyStand 5000 and 6000 Standing Frames, which provide a comfortable, effective standing environment. They help prepare the body for Gait Training with the un-weighting system and other devices.

A person who has a disability and uses a wheelchair for mobility should stand as part of their rehabilitation. Standing is necessary to maintain a person's physical and psychological health. The EasyStand 5000 provides a great way to achieve this goal.  We also can do many activities and therapies while up and standing.

EasyStand 6000 Glider provides safe dynamic leg motion for individuals who are unable to stand upright or walk on their own. Glider handles are linked allowing one leg to move forward while the other moves back. This will also provide the individual a great upper body workout.

Our Hack Squat machine allows us to place the client in a safe environment in order to load the legs with resistance up to 300 pounds.  Many start with just the weight of the machine and of course their own body weight.  We feel this is a valuable tool in our therapeutic programs.

 

 

 


Sony PlayStation II
Used for the development of the those with vision challenges, the Sony PlayStation II is used by top clinics for hand-eye coordination, and also provides outstanding brain stimulation.

The SaeboFlex is an award winning dynamic orthosis that assists with thumb and finger extension so that grasp and release tasks can be accomplished.  They also provide us other devices which enable many of our clients a variety of exercises to increase strength and range of their upper body. The Total Gym has provided our clients a great way to load the legs for strengthening along with allowing them to use the upper body.  It also allows us to work all levels of spinal cord injuries along with other traumatic injuries in a safe motivating environment.

Nothing fancy here.  These stairs allow us to work those clients ready for more aggressive exercise, while learning a much needed skill for the real world.  A great confidence builder.

We work on many activities at our Standing station.  From balance to posture and all aspects of the pre-gait process.  We also use digital scales to give the client immediate response on how they weight shift during exercise.  And of course a large mirror delivers more instant feedback for both client and therapist.
